Conquer the Digital SAT Math Section

For many students, the Math section of the SAT is the biggest hurdle to crossing the 1500+ threshold required for top global universities. The new Digital SAT has changed the game—it is now fully section-adaptive and allows the use of a built-in graphing calculator for the entire math portion.

At Eduvoyager, our specialized "Matheletics" SAT program is designed and led by a PhD in Mathematics. We move beyond basic high school formulas. We teach you how to decode the College Board’s specific trap answers, eliminate math phobia, and utilize advanced time-saving strategies to hit a perfect 800.

The "Matheletics" Advantage

High school math teaches you how to solve a problem in 5 minutes showing all your work. The SAT requires you to solve that same problem in 45 seconds using logic and elimination. Our training bridges that gap.

  • Desmos Calculator Mastery: You no longer need to solve complex algebraic equations by hand. We train you to exploit the Bluebook app's built-in Desmos graphing calculator to visually solve systems of equations, quadratics, and inequalities in seconds.
  • Adaptive Testing Strategies: Because the test adapts to your performance, missing an easy question early on can prevent you from reaching the high-scoring second module. We drill accuracy and error-checking for the crucial first 10 questions.
  • Conceptual Shortcuts: Learn to recognize the patterns behind the questions so you can bypass lengthy calculations entirely.

Core Syllabus Covered

We comprehensively cover the four core domains tested on the Digital SAT Math section:

1. Heart of Algebra

Mastering linear equations, systems of linear equations, and linear functions. We teach you how to quickly identify slopes, y-intercepts, and the relationships between graphical representations and algebraic forms.

2. Advanced Math

Tackling complex equations including quadratics, exponentials, polynomials, and rational expressions. You will learn expert factoring techniques and how to use the vertex form to your advantage.

3. Problem-Solving and Data Analysis

Translating real-world word problems into mathematical equations. We cover ratios, percentages, proportional reasoning, and interpreting complex scatterplots, histograms, and probability charts.

4. Geometry and Trigonometry

Conquering area, volume, lines, angles, triangles, and circles. We provide rapid-recall strategies for the unit circle, SOHCAHTOA, and complex geometric theorems.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can I use a calculator for the whole math section?

+
Yes! Unlike the old paper SAT, the new Digital SAT allows you to use a calculator (either your own approved device or the built-in Desmos calculator) for all math questions across both modules.

2. Are all questions multiple-choice?

+
No. Approximately 75% of the math questions are multiple-choice, but the remaining 25% are Student-Produced Responses (grid-ins), where you must calculate and enter the exact numerical answer.

3. How is the Math section structured?

+
The Math section consists of two adaptive modules. You have 35 minutes to complete each module, which contains 22 questions. The total time for the Math section is 70 minutes.

4. I am terrible at Math. Can I still score well?

+
Absolutely. The SAT tests logic as much as it tests raw calculation. By learning our strategic shortcuts and how to effectively use the Desmos calculator, even students with math phobia can secure a highly competitive score.

5. Do I have to memorize formulas?

+
The Digital SAT provides a reference sheet with common geometry formulas. However, for maximum speed and efficiency, our PhD faculty will train you so these formulas become second nature, saving you precious minutes during the exam.
